Canada Day Breakfast

Start your Canada Day with a free community pancake breakfast hosted by the Township of Asphodel-Norwood Special Events Committee.

Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Town Hall

Canada Day cake will be served following breakfast.

The morning will also include outdoor entertainment and kid-friendly activities provided by Canmexicanus/Backroad Collective. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the morning. Attendees must be present to win.

Special appearances will be made by Bonnie Clark, Warden of Peterborough County, and MPP David Piccini.

The Township extends its appreciation to the many community partners and volunteers helping to support this event, including:

• Maple View Retirement Residence for donating water and glow sticks
• Linlor Farm for donating maple syrup
• Ontario Milk Board for donating milk
• Quaker Oats for donating pancake mix and the Lions Club for cooking pancakes
• Members of the Asphodel-Norwood Fire & Rescue department and other community volunteers for assisting with the event

Food items and glow sticks will be available while supplies last.

Operational changes

• The Municipal Office, Transfer Station, and Public Library branches will be closed for Canada Day.
• Garbage collection shifts by one day:
  
  • Wednesday's collection moved to Thursday, July 2, 2026
  • Thursday's collection moved to Friday, July 3, 2026
  • Friday's collection moved to Saturday, July 4, 2026
    
• Recycling collection will proceed as usual on July 1, 2026 - no changes.
